How did we go about it?
Understanding interfaces and the schedule
In my role as a Project Control Consultant at BAEKEN for Heijmans, I was responsible for drawing up the detailed schedule. This began with gathering information from the various disciplines within the project. By carefully processing this information, I was able to map out the interfaces between the activities. This is essential for coordinating the activities, with the operational nature of the station presenting an additional challenge. We have ensured that the schedule is both flexible and precise enough to accommodate changes without causing delays. This schedule is updated every two weeks in 13-week increments to keep everyone continuously informed of progress.
Visualization of the work
To further optimize the schedule, we use Synchro for the 4D visualization of the project. This allows us to visually display the timeline and the interfaces between the various activities and parties involved. This gives the team a clear picture of the workflows and makes it easier to anticipate potential bottlenecks. By using this software, we are not only able to plan better, but also to respond proactively to challenges that may arise during the execution of the work.
