How did we approach this project?
Setting up a standardized workflow
In a long-term project, in which people come and go, a future-proof workflow is essential. We have revised the database that stores test data and drawn up clear work instructions for both the current and next generation of test engineers at NMi. We have also created a more centralized documentation storage system to preserve the agreements with all project stakeholders.
Providing insight into progress
We developed a multidisciplinary dashboard in Power BI to visualize the progress of various certification steps and to deliver reports to NMi’s finance department. The dashboard was designed after we collected the relevant data for the company management, the system suppliers and NMi’s approval experts. Together with the project stakeholders and the visualized data in Power BI, we found solutions for deviations in the project planning, contractual agreements and finances.
Preparing NMi for the next phase
Traffic enforcement systems must be periodically certified. That is why we not only looked at the progress of the current certification process, but also looked ahead. Our dashboard in Power BI shows the peaks and troughs of the expected workload for the coming years, so that we can plan staffing capacity and testing equipment well in advance. We provided NMi with a project framework that is ready for the future of this certification process.
